The Global Merit & Essence Awards Network welcomes Professor Doctor Noor Jehan as its Global Advocate Director, Pakistan

Professor Doctor Jehan is the first Pakistani female Academician to complete her Post Doctoral Studies in the field of Environmental and Medical Geology from the Department of Geo-Sciences at The University of Houston Texas, USA. She is also the first Woman from South East Asia to receive her PhD in Environmental and Medical Geology.  She has received her Masters of Science in Exploration Geology and Geographic Information System and Satellite Remote Sensing from the International Institute of Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, ITC in The Netherlands.

Prof. Jehan currently serves as the first female Vice Chancellor at the University of Swabi, in Pakistan. She began her career in Pakistan, as the first female Geologist in Mineral & Mines Directorate which continued for 15 years.

Her National and International experiences in Earth, Environmental and Space Sciences and Advance Instrumentation quickly elevated her as first Woman to be a Senior Geologist in Mineral & Environmental Testing Laboratory, Mineral & Mines Directorate while in Khyber, Pakistan until 2000. That same year, Prof. Jehan was selected as an Assistant Prof. at the Dept. of Environmental Sciences, at The University of Peshawar. She was promoted to Associate Prof. in March 2009 and elevated to the position of full Professor as well as the first female Chairperson of the Dept. of Environmental Sciences at the University of Peshawar in Khyber, Pakistan.

Professor Dr. Jehan is the recipient of several distinguished International & National awards including the prestigious Queens of Holland Award from The ITC (The Netherlands). The IWAA -Women of Distinction Award (Canada). The Women Academician Award from the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. The Environmental Award & Gold Medal of SPCS from the International Union for Conservation the Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).
