Elsie Brown Memorial Bursary – $1,000

The Elsie Brown Memorial Bursary was established by Blair Brown, CoFounder of GMEAN.  Blair is an alumna of the Radio & TV Arts Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). GMEAN hopes that this bursary will encourage and assist students seeking to pursue studies in the field of Radio & Television.

In Memory of Elsie L. Brown

Elsie Brown was a woman of etiquette, virtue, passion and devotion; one who spent her life fully engaged in community building and one who believed strongly in education.

The Bursary

Available to second year students enrolled in the Radio & Television program at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement in the program.

Bianca Phiri Youth Bursary – $1,000

The Bianca Phiri Youth Bursary is funding established and earmarked for children and youth from marginalized communities in developing countries.

Deadline

Midnight November 30th, 2022

Eligibility

Applicant Must:

  • be from a marginalized community in a developing country
  • be a Full-Time student from those in Post-Secondary studies
  • currently be enrolled in or accepted into a university, college or trades school
  • submit proof of enrollment (if currently enrolled), High School transcript and letter of Admission¬†
  • provide sufficient proof of financial need
  • complete online Application Form (with all supporting documentation) or print and provide application to our local office
  • provide 2 letters of reference (ie. teacher, employer, student counsellor etc)
